Anacapri, Capri
The Baroque Church of San Michele Arcangelo

The Baroque Church of San Michele Arcangelo in Anacapri, Capri, built between 1698 and 1719, features a spectacular 18th-century majolica tile floor by Leonardo Chiaiese. The floor depicts Adam and Eve's expulsion from the Garden of Eden and includes an intricate collection of animals, such as a lion, elephant, crocodile, and unicorn. Visitors can view this masterpiece from a protective wooden walkway or from above near the church's organ. This was one of the places in Italy where you truly felt the Holy Spirit. It was a beautiful quick, walk through Capri. On the way we bought gorgeous fresh fruit as a snack. When we were exiting the church the church there was a Marching Band dressed in black and white playing an anthem. The small details made it an unforgettable and a special experience.
